Civil Engineering Internships in Orlando & Kissimmee
Enjoy solving tough challenges while working in a fun and professional environment?
KPM Franklin is a rapidly growing civil engineering and geospatial & land surveying firm that has been shaping Central Florida for more than 30 years. We are seeking civil engineering college students and recent graduates for spring and fall paid internships in our Orlando and Kissimmee offices.
Our civil engineering interns gain practical knowledge and experience working in a meaningful and challenging environment on active client projects under the guidance of our senior project managers. Our interns also participate in weekly department meetings and occasional client meetings.
KPM Franklin interns build a solid foundation of technical skills working in AutoCAD Civil 3D on all phases of land development projects, starting with basic civil engineering calculations and construction document redline drafting and then progressing to more advanced drainage design, utility design and spatial site planning tasks.
Additional practical experience is gained from learning how to conduct permit and code research, draft written specifications and prepare permit applications to be submitted to the city or county in Central Florida with local jurisdiction. We also offer opportunities to gain practical experience using ICPR 4.0, Water CAD, Storm CAD, Water GEMS and PONDS engineering software.
KPM Franklin offers flexible scheduling around classes and other student commitments. We also include our interns in employee appreciation activities, including our annual paper airplane design and flight contest on National Paper Airplane Day, pizza lunch and learns, holiday celebrations and attending Orlando Magic and Orlando City games.
